We are Chris & Chrissie, and we bought Dolphn Hill House in December 2022. We plan to record our progress as we repair and restore this wonderful Georgian house, and hopefully document some of its history.

The image above is on display at Emsworth Museum and depicts Queen Victoria arriving at the West Sussex/Hampshire border where she was greeted by the Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, the Duke of Wellington on the 28th Feb 1842. Thats the same Duke of Wellington who was victorious over Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo. The border between the counties lies along the River Ems, which passes under what is now The Old Mill. Queen Victoria passed up Dolphin Hill, right past the front of Dolphin Hill House, seen on the right hand side. A couple of years later Dolphin Hill was renamed Queen Street to commemorate this day.
